About Geiger
Featuring some of our new selections from our Early Spring 2013 Catalog!
Geiger of Austria is a fourth generation family enterprise offering distinct, alpine inspired clothing. Geiger coats are made of new wool, boiled in mountain spring water. Coats are made by an age old process that creates very special qualities - the stretch, the exquisite lightness, and deep rich colors.
1980 marks the year when GEIGER, who had successfully entered the US market, founded its US daughter company GEIGER of Austria, Inc. and one year later moved into a brand new distribution facility in Middlebury, VT.
GEIGER Walk (boiled wool) is easy to care for. Please refer to instructions listed on the care label of each item before cleaning. It is best not to dry clean boiled wool extensively. Tumble drying is also not recommended, even on a wool cycle setting, as exposure to motion and heat could cause excess felting of the wool.
In order to eliminate odors just air out your Geiger Walk item in a sheltered spot outside, or hang it in a steam filled bathroom. Within a few hours the garment will smell fresh. The steam will also greatly reduce the effect of wrinkles, making this material almost maintenance free.
